Jules-Paul-Ernest Hedou was born in Rouen on September 20, 1833 and died at Chateau de la Rue-Saint-Pierre, September 15, 1905. Hedou was a painter of still lives and an art historian. He exhibited at the French Salon between 1858 and 1864.

The Musée of Rouen represents the artist in their collection.
